What We Believe

  1. The Bible is the inspired, inerrant and authoritative Word of God for Christian faith and living.

John 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; Heb. 4:12; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; 2 Pet. 1:20-21

   2. That there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father,   Son, and Holy Spirit.

Matt. 28:19-20; John 10:30-33, 15:26; Rom. 8:9; Col. 1:15, 2:9; Heb. 1:2-3

   3. He reigns with providential care over the universe with all power, all wisdom, and all love.

Genesis 1:1; Exodus 3:14; Isaiah 64:8; Ephesians 4:6; Colossians 1:17; 1 Timothy 1:17

   4. In the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; Heb. 4:15, 9:26-28; 1 Pet. 2:22; Rom. 3:21-26; Acts 7:56; Col. 3:1; 1 Cor. 15; Acts 1:11

   5. In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling every Christian is able to live a godly life.

John, Acts 1:8; Rom. 8:1-17; Gal. 5:16-25; 1 Thess. 5:15-17

   6. That all people are lost sinners and must be regenerated by the Holy Spirit, believe in the Gospel (possible link here to what is the Gospel?) and turn to Christ in saving faith. Thus, salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

John 3:3-8, 16-21; Acts 4:12; Rom. 3:21-26, 6:23; Eph. 2:1-10

   7. Both believers and unbelievers will after death have eternal destinies; those believing to eternal life with Christ and those unbelieving to eternal punishment in hell.

Matt. 25; John 6:40; 1 Cor. 15; Rev. 20:11-15

What is the Gospel?

The Gospel is summed up in the doing, dying, and rising of Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a sinless life in perfect obedience to the Father. He then took the punishment we deserved at the cross, dying in our place as the perfect sacrifice for sin. Finally, he rose in powerful victory of sin and death.

We believe the Gospel proclaimed from the scriptures changes people: it resurrects hearts, removes idolatry, and restores lives. Families are restored, communities are renewed, and whole regions are transformed by its power. Thus, we will preach the Gospel. We will counsel with the Gospel. We will celebrate the Gospel in song. We will remember the Gospel by partaking in the Lord’s Supper. We will learn to live in light of the Gospel in every sphere of life. From our personal lives, to our homes, to our communities, to the schools and jobs we take in this region, to the ends of the earth; this church in word and deed will proclaim the Gospel.
